Warner,
Simpson and Co Ltd. sunk this
steam coal pit in 1864.
By 1880 Bodringallt pit was under
the ownership of Davies and Warner.
In 1890 D. Davies and Sons purchased
the colliery and it became Ferndale
No. 3 pit.
From the Inspector of mines list
1896, Ferndale No. 3 employed
930 men.
By 1908 the workforce had decreased
to 653.
Later Cory Brothers and Co. took
over the running of the colliery
and in 1918 the workforce numbered
392.
It
closed in 1936
