Tydraw Colliery, Blaencwm, 1929
This steam coal colliery was opened in 1865 by Thomas Joseph.

Later it came under the control of the Cory Brothers

In 1908 and 1918 there were 730 and 814 employed respectively and in 1938 and 1945 the workforce numbered 556 and 483.

Closed by the National Coal Board in 1959.
