Emlyn Jones having back scrubbed by
wife Agnes in Tynewydd in 1948.
This picture originally appeared in
a national daily newspaper along with
an article about coping with post-war
soap shortage. As a result, the Jones'
were inundated with parcels of soap
from as far a field as the Yukon and
USA.
When I was a young lad in the late
1950's and early 1960's I can remember
rushing to my granparents so that
I could wash my Grancha's back when
he came off shift.
